RICYW was established to fill a critical service and advocacy gap for Transition-Age-Youth who are navigating adulthood with compounded adversity due to child welfare

system involvement or a disability.

The need is in the numbers, and the data underscores a pressing need for specialized, integrated services for transition-age youth in Rhode Island, particularly those with foster care backgrounds or disabilities.


RICYW's model, centered on lived-experience leadership and comprehensive support, is uniquely positioned to address these unmet needs and facilitate successful transitions to adulthood.
